Mmmmmm .... Salad

Mmmmmm .... Salad

We've been trying to eat better - more vegetables, less junk.  I won't say we're perfect, but we have been improving, which means we're at least headed in the right direction.  We've been experimenting with salads and I came up with a recipe tonight that was pretty darned good.

A Quest for Clam Chowder

A Quest for Clam Chowder

I recently undertook a quest (at Kristie's suggestion) to find a recipe for the perfect clam chowder. I think I may have hit the jackpot.

Cheesey, Saucy, Goodness

Cheesey, Saucy, Goodness

The frozen stuff in the orange box is pretty tasty (and easy) and that usually suffices.  But recently I took it upon myself to make lasagna from scratch - including the pasta.  I won't go back!

Honey Chipotle Glazed Salmon

Honey Chipotle Glazed Salmon

Salmon is, without question, the perfect fish.  Not only does it have a great flavor by itself, but it can be prepared in so many ways.  Here's my current favorite way to prepare it (so easy) and eat it (so tasty)!

That Sweet, Smoky Tang

When I decided to cook up some ribs for myself, I figured I'd take things one step further and make my own barbecue sauce.  I didn't even buy a bottle as backup...

Sweet Sugary Goodness

Sweet Sugary Goodness

Simply put, it's the ULTIMATE sugar cookie recipe.  No exaggeration, either.

Mmmmm ... Fajitas

Mmmmm ... Fajitas

For Kristie's birthday dinner, she requested fajitas so I made up a batch and invented a marinade that was darned good, if I do say so myself.

Kebabs without the kebabs

Tonight for dinner, I made shrimp kebabs - minus the kebab part.  I had planned on using the grill but we're out of propane so I had to improvise.

Great Minds?

It's common knowlege among human males that there are two reasons to give flowers to one's wife.  First, flowers make her happy.  And, second, flowers make her happy.  What I'm really getting at is that flowers make women happy.

Eggplant for dinner?

I've never cared much for eggplant - not that I've had much experience eating it, mind you.  So when I came across a recipe for Ratatouille the other day, I was a bit skeptical.
